Name: Ular Art Agency and Modern Art Gallery Year of establishment: June 1993. Ownership: private Founder and Director: Yuriy Eduardovich Markovich Legend: It was the character of many beautiful ancient legends. The sacred bird Ular can be found in the Kazakh fairy tales. Each feather of this supernatural being had magic properties and served as protection against devilry. Today this celestial being dwells in the wilds of the Red Book, somewhere far in the Alatau highlands; its feathers may be seen on the ancient woman's headdresses, where the forefathers placed them in order to turn away the evil eye and curse; the gallery is named after this bird ...
